The world's first commercial batch of coated auto catalysts was made at our Royston, UK site in May 1974. As vehicle emissions limits tightened following the Clean Air Act, JM scientists applied technology already developed for other applications into a vehicle exhaust. 50 years later, we're continuing to innovate and clean the air millions of people breathe around the world.

"We now estimate we've made over 1.3 billion catalysts that have been fitted to vehicles worldwide. Today, these catalysts remove 98% of emissions that would otherwise get into the atmosphere." - Chris Morgan, Strategic Projects Director

While the world and our technology has changed, our goal of saving lives by reducing harmful global emissions remains the same.

"The emissions control team services the now and it also services what is around and beyond." - Tauseef Salma, Chief Technology Director

"I'm very proud to be part of JM because I clearly see that by protecting people and the planet, I'm very much doing a responsible job." - Sudhagar Vediappan, Global Applications Development Manager
